Fall Activities

Abigail has been doing so many funny things like jumping in her jumperoo, laughing, and making rasberries with her mouth. She is not crawling, but I cannot keep her in one place-she rolls and scoots everywhere. We have been carting her around to lots of places including the Country Adventures bonfire as seen in all the pictures below. We had a visit from Great-Aunt Deb and she went to the bonfire with us, she was unofficial photographer. Take a look at the pictures below with commentary from Abigail.

Mommy took a nap on Sunday and daddy dressed me in this polo summer dress WITH pants in NOVEMBER.. What?......, I think it's cute, that daddy sure has a sense of style.

Look at me...I eat veggies now! I really love my peas!

This is me on the horsey saddle...Weeeee!

Mommies little pumpkin....in a barrel full of pumpkins.

I look like a peanut next to this tractor wheel.

Me, Mommy, Aunt Deb, and that horsey that I tried to ride....but I am too little.

I do prefer the Sam Adams Okoberfest over the Sam Adams regular Ale....Where did I learn about beer at such a young age?

My good friend Henry taught me everything I need to know....

Halloween, Gatlinburg, and Surprises

Well, it has only been FOREVER since I started a new post. I feel completely fulfilled in my new job and new role as mom, but it all takes way more time than expected. In the meantime, we have traveled to Gatlinburg to meet Bubie, had Papaw Duffee and Great-Grandma Duffee come visit to help build a patio, dressed up for Halloween and had a surprise visit from Mamaw Duffee. Abigail has also had her 4 month appointment and got a great check-up. Her weight was 50th percentile, her length was 30th and her giant head was 75th percentile. The doctor says this is to house her very big, smart brain-I could not agree more. She is also eating cereal and is scooting around everywhere-I figure we have a solid month until she is mobile. We have lots of stuff planned this month including a trip home, her Baptism, and some time to ourselves as we take advantage of babysitters and family to help. All in all, she is a sweet little baby and I just can't believe how perfect she is! Please see pics with Abigail's comments below.

So, this is when Papaw Duffee and Great-Grandma Duffee came to visit. They worked really hard on building this patio!!!
The very same day, we had an Oktoberfest in our neighborhood park. All the mommies and daddies were drinking lots of brown bottles-more than I usually drink from my bottle!!! I wonder why????
I love playing in my Exersaucer!!! It keeps me busy....
I can get in my big girl stroller now. Someone tell my mom Ugg boots are so 2006.....

We met halfway to meet Bubie in Gatlinburg! We had a great time in the mountains in our beautiful cabin. Getting to the cabin at the top of the mountain was another story....
Thank goodness mommy bought me this strawberry costume while I was still in her belly, I can't imagine being cuter in anything else for my first Halloween!!!!
A bunch of my friends stopped by to trick or treat!!!!! Candy we must get-says Yoda....
Mamaw Duffee decided to surprise me and visit for several days. I really miss all my family in Louisville, but we make the best of it when a visit does come around.

Football, Festivals and School

We have been very busy this past month, lots of new things happening. Of course, since it is fall, we have been watching lots of football games with friends. Also, we have been to an Arts and Crafts Festival in Aiken, SC and the Greek Festival in Columbia. And, most importantly, Abigail has started going to Lake Carolina Early Learning Center and I have returned to work. This is a huge adjustment, but I love my new job and Abigail is very well taken care of. Abigail is smiling and laughing like crazy and starting to have interest in toys and playthings. She has also been holding her head up for several weeks now-we are so proud of her!!!!! Next month, expect some pictures of Halloween (Abigail will be a strawberry), pictures of family visitors, as well as pictures of her first trip to the mountains. See the below pictures with commentary from Abigail:

Daddy said I had to wear red from head to toe for the UofL games!!!!

We went to a friends house to watch the UofL v UofK game and everyone was so excited and cheerful, but then everyone starting yelling and the TV and getting upset-I don't understand why. Daddy was especially mad, I had to smile and laugh and be really cute to get him to be happy again.
Mommy dressed me all up to go to a festival in Aiken. We bought a really cute dress for me to wear when I turn 1. Boy, that seems like a long time away, but mommy says it will be here before we know it. We then stopped by the drive-in movies that night, mommy and daddy watched the movie and I snoozed.
This is me on my first day of school at Lake Carolina Early Learning Center. Mommy was really upset and I think she was crying, but I had a good time and the ladies there take extra special care of me.

Mommy used to wear a T-shirt and shorts everyday-not anymore!!! We get up extra early so that mommy can look nice for work. Then mommy dresses me up in my cute clothes too!!!!
This is my new friend Garett Massey, he was just born and I can't wait until we can play together. Look at our daddies holding us-too cute!!!

This is me in my new chair that helps me hold my head up. I love sitting in this!!!!!

Babysitters, Blowfish, and The Beach

Sorry the updates have been few and far between!!! A lot has happened in the past month. Abigail had her 2 month doctor's appointment and she was 9 lbs. 12 ounces. Right now, she is probably much bigger, because that appointment was on 8/5. We have also had our first babysitting experience, it was hard to leave her, but we had a great sitter and Andy and I enjoyed our night out. We also took Abigail on her first shopping trip to Charlotte with Mamaw Duffee and our friend Beth. She was very well behaved and she will be the best-dressed baby in the fall thanks to the trip. We also went to a Columbia Blowfish Baseball game with Mamaw Duffee, it was very fun and I see her attending many more sporting events in the future. We visited Aunt Deb in Savannah and Abigail had her first real smile while we were there. And, finally, Bubie visited and we all went down to the beach. Things did not go as planned as Bubie ended up in the hospital for 2 days, but she is much better now. Despite the unexpected hospital stay, we enjoyed our time together and we even ended up getting to see Zeyde as he flew down to take care of Bubie and drive her back to Louisville. Enjoy the pics below with commentary from Abigail:
This is me and mommy right before she left me with a babysitter for the first time. Mommy was really worried and called to check on me twice. But, everything was just fine because we had a great sitter and mommy and daddy had fun at the wedding!!!

This is me and mommy and daddy ready to go the the Columbia Blowfish Baseball game-we had lots of fun. I can't wait until I get to go to Louisville football and basketball games.
This is daddy, his friend Justin and the actual Columbia Blowfish at the baseball game.

This is me at the beach condo. You can tell how much I like the beach because I am smiling and happy in this picture.
This is me and mommy on the beach for the first time ever. I can't wait to go back again!!!!

I wore my "Abigail" towel at the beach. Mommy says this towel has my name on it. I can't read yet, so I will take her word for it.
Me and mommy got some really good rest at the beach condo. You could hear the waves from the ocean in our bedroom.

Friends, Family, and 4th of July

We decided to go home to Louisville and visit friends and family and we had a fabulous time. We were even able to surprise a couple of people with our trip. As soon as we got back to South Carolina, we had Aunt Chrissie, Uncle Adam, and Julia come visit. We had a great time going to see fireworks, getting our picture taken at Portrait Innovations, and just visiting at our house. Please see the pictures below with commentary from Abigail:

We went to a big fireworks show at the Village at Sandhill with some friends and family for the fourth, but I slept right through the big show!
Uncle Andy had a great time when my cousin Julia came to visit. Daddy, it won't be long before I am this big!!!
We visited all my cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents when we went home to Louisville.
Here is me with my Mamaw, Pawpaw, and cousins Julia and Madison
And, we went to visit Bubie, Great-Grandmas, and my Aunt Lauren and Kristine. This is the first time my Aunt Lauren got to hold me.
This is me and my friend Elizabeth, she was born just a couple of weeks after me. We cuddled in my pack and play while our mommies had lunch and talked about us the whole time.

Life after Bringing Baby Home

Well, we are finally home and getting back to normal. Abigail is getting her weight up there and she is eating like a piggly-wiggly. We were discharged from the hospital and she weighed 5 lb 3 oz, at her lowest she was 5 lb 1 oz. We went to the pediatrician on last Wednesday and she was 5 lb 15 oz, which was a 12 ounce gain in one week. Yeah!!!

We have been pretty bored in the house these last couple of weeks-especially Mom!!! So, we ventured out to some places for the first time this weekend. The first trip out was to the Lamoreaux's cook-out on Friday night. Abigail was very good and slept the whole time. The second trip out was Sunday to a pool party that one of the Doctor's had at his house for the residents, again she was an angel and slept the whole time. Below is a picture of her after her first pool party-she was tired even though she stayed inside the whole time and was still a bit too young to partake in the pool festivities!!! Enjoy the following pics with commentary from Abigail:
Daddy is always kissing me from the moment I was born-He loves me!!!!

Even though I was born 500 miles away from family and friends-I still had a waiting room full of people looking at me in the nursery. thanks everybody for coming to visit!!!!

This picture was taken when I was at my smallest weight-but I am growing and getting bigger everyday!

I like to sleep with my head resting on my hands-Mommy thinks this is really cute!

I am already getting bigger and I fit in Newborn clothes now-see this cute little blue one. I have lots of clothes to wear and I can't wait to fit into the rest of the stuff!!!!

So many people have come to visit me-this is me with Papa Joe.

And, this is me with my Bubie, she is so crazy, she wants Mommy to send pictures of me everyday. I know it is just because she misses me so much!!!!

See how tired I was last night after the pool party!!!

And, this is me at my morning nap today-see how big I am getting!!!

Stay tuned for some updates of my first Lake Party this weekend and after that we will have lots of pictures of when Aunt Chrissie, Uncle Adam, and Cousin Julia come to visit!!!!

Operation:Nursery Complete

So, it has been a long time since I have shared pictures-that is because we have been very busy. We are so happy and grateful to have gotten so many beautiful things for the baby-but, man did it take a long time to get everything washed, organized, and put away. The nursery is basically complete, I have enclosed lots of pictures for you to take a look at.

I have about 6 weeks until the due date and am getting anxious since everything is ready now. Andy and I can't wait to see everyone when they come to visit the baby!!! It will be a summer full of visitors and we love it! I plan to be off for 12 weeks, so that should cover plenty of time for everyone to come visit before I go back to work. Hope you all are doing well.
We worked really hard on making these letters. It was funny to see Andy tie 7 bows and it took him an hour because he wanted it to be perfect.

Look at all her books, photo albums, picture frames and the handmade piggy bank! We can't wait to start filling up these books.

So, Aunt Chrissie made this beautiful quilt and it is so pretty that I wanted to use it as a display piece instead. My neighbor gave me these quilt hangers and we put it right on the wall!!! Eventually, the two ledges besides it will hold some adorable pictures.
