Happy Memorial Day!

We had a block party to celebrate Memorial Day and say good-bye to some neighborhood friends. It rained a little, but we just huddled under some tents and waited it out. We shared food, drink and fun. But we all must remember that Memorial Day is to pay tribute to those men and women who have and continue to fight for our freedoms!!!!!

Thanks to all who serve our great country!!!

I love to pick up every little thing on the ground, especially pinestraw!!!!!

Slow Down!!!!

Abigail is going to be 1 in less than 3 weeks and all I can say is "Slow Down"!!!! Where did the time go? It seems like just last week she was a tiny little thing at 5 lbs 6 ozs. I was sooooo worried about her being so small and now I wish I could go back to those days because it is all going too fast. She is so active now, she had been taking steps for about a month and then on Mother's Day she decided to walk on her own and now that is all she wants to do. She is constantly waving to everyone around if we are coming or going. Peek-a-boo is her favorite game and she would do it for an hour if she could. All I have to say is "Where's Abigail?" or "Peek-a -boo" and she immediately begins burying her face in her hands. Another new trick is clapping, she used to clap when we said "yay" or "clap Abigail", but now she claps when she knows she did something good like walk or eat her dinner-so smart!!!! I swear she is trying to say "dog" and "bye-bye". She looks at the dog and says "doh, doh"-so close!!!!! See some updated pics below.

These socks were made for walkin'

On the move.....a little wobbly, but I will make it from A to B

Peek-a-boo, I see you....

Clapping...and clapping....and clapping some more

Torturing the dog by stealing his toys

Trying to reach the dog to pull his hair. Baxter is pretty smart though, he knows to stay out of the path of destruction.

Now that I can walk, I'm blowin' this joint......

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a lovely Mother's Day weekend. We started out at a Pottery Studio on Friday night and made gifts for myself, Mamaw Duffee and Bubie. It was a fun and somewhat challenging experience with a baby, but she did very well!!!!! We then had some friends over the next day including Abigail's newest friend, Cody Wigand. We had our first of many family trips to the swimming pool and Abigail loved it, she is practicing for her Birthday party! We then had a relaxing and lazy(for me at least) Mother's Day!!!!

Me and Mommy connected with our inner artist. Here we are making a platter for Mamaw.

Here I am adding my special touches to mommy's platter that daddy helped me make!

Good thing we made a mess at the Pottery Studio and not at home. Mommy would have pulled her hair out with this mess!!!

Daddies + Babies= Cuteness!!!! Here is my new friend Cody Wigand!!!

This is the best photo you are gonna get with 4 little kids. Cody, Adriana, me and Karisa, aren't we cute???

My new favorite thing to do....lounge in the pool. I can't wait to go back!!!

Go Baby Go!!!! It's Derby Time!

After two years of missing the Derby in Louisville, we decided it would be perfect to go home and visit family and head to the track for some much needed adult time. The grandmas were more than happy to help out while we made our Derby rounds, they practically stole her from us all weekend!!! We had a great group of 10 friends that all headed to the track together and then we met up with some of Andy's Med School friends for dinner on Derby night. See all the pics below:
All the girls arriving at Churchill Downs. Of course, the guys got there one hour prior, we are fashionably late!!!!

Andy and I in our Derby finest!!!!!

Having a grand time!!!!!!

And dinner with some old friends......

And a trip home would not be complete without a visit with all the cousins. We miss you already!!!!

Spring Festivities

We have been having so much fun now that Andy has been transitioning back to living at home. Every weekend is filled with something fun to do. Abigail loved being outside now that the weather is nice and we are taking advantage of the spring activities in South Carolina. We have gone to a USC Baseball game, had a our quarterly Block Party, attended a County Fair and have been busy at school making crafts. See some pics below:

Since we can't attend Louisville Cardinal games, we support our Local Gamecocks!!!! Here is me and mommy and some friends at a USC Baseball game.

As much as I love my adopted new team, I could only make it to the 7th inning stretch until it was meltdown mode.

Here is me and my friends at our Spring Fling Block Party. It lasted all day and all night as always!!!! I can't wait until our 4th of July celebration!!!

These crazy kids were all lining up to jump inside this big red ball and roll around. I can't wait until I get to do that!!!!

This is the shirt I made at school. If you look close, you can see it is a butterfly and it's wings are made out of my footprints!!!

I loved the homemade peach ice cream at the Sparkleberry County Fair, but mommy and daddy only let me have a couple bites. I would have eaten the whole bowl!!!!!

Babies First Easter!

We spent Abigail's first Easter in Greenville since Andy was on call. We had a challenging afternoon at a packed church followed by a very nice brunch at the Hyatt Downtown. I did not realize how hard it would be to entertain a 10 month old in a tiny room for one hour while we tried to listen to Easter Mass!!!!! We made it through just fine though and had a lovely day. After our brunch at the Hyatt we headed to Falls Park to try and walk off all the calories.

At the park.......

I wanted to eat all the pretty Spring flowers....

Wow, this Easter bunny guy gives me the creeps, I better keep my eye on him...

I ate like a little piggly wiggly at Easter Brunch!!!!!!

What are you lookin at? Haven't you ever seen a baby eat a whole waffle before?
